Parker really wants to be a party animal.
But for the second year in a row during her birthday celebration, she just couldn’t hang.
By 9 p.m. on Monday — the day she turned 11 — Parker was officially pooped.
In her defense, Parker started her birthday in the 5 a.m. club. She’s gotten really good at doing textbook push-ups with me first thing in the morning, right after popping out of bed before dawn.
Keep pushing yourself, sweetie. Your hard work will pay off in ways you can’t even imagine.
But after a long day of school, a huge helping of sushi as a special afterschool snack, a couple hours of homework, Daddy’s delicious steak tacos for dinner, presents, cupcakes, ice cream, family, friends and non-stop excitement, Parker thought she’d have enough juice left in her battery pack to podcast.
We thought it’d be fun to document Parker’s birthday in real time.
But neither of us considered how fried our brains would be by the end of the night and all that comes with that.
We did our best to recap Parker’s birthday weekend, which we enjoyed together — along with a special guest. But it was late when we finally hit record, and you can definitely hear the lack of usual energy.
Despite our exhaustion, we had such a great time celebrating Parker and making memories that will last a lifetime. We hope you enjoy the episode as much as we enjoyed living it. Hit play below to join us and hear our tired but happy selves share the highlights.
